Your home from home in the Yorkshire Dales
Nestled at the foot of the breathtaking Malham Cove, in the heart of the idyllic and charming village of Malham, you’ll discover The Lister Arms. For sheer location alone, our traditional coaching inn is a fell walker’s paradise, but for those with a serious passion for home cooked food in a traditional Yorkshire setting, you won’t be disappointed.
From the outside, history can be seen from every turn, from the traditional mounting block where riders would effortlessly climb on to the horses, to the period features and beautiful tiled entrance way to welcome you in.
Inside the Inn is divided into little nooks, with original fireplaces, wood floors and beams – making it the perfect place to while away the hours with friends, loved ones or fellow walkers.
You can choose from a menu which is a celebration of locally sourced in season ingredients from trusted suppliers in the area – all home cooked to order by our talented Chef Patron, Terry Quinn and team. And naturally for a Thwaites owned Inn, food here is brilliantly complemented by the extensive selection of cask ales. Add to that comfortable accommodation and a really warm Yorkshire welcome from our friendly team and you’ve got everything you need for an unforgettable trip to the Yorkshire Dales

Accessibility
If you’re visiting The Lister Arms and not quite as sprightly as you used to be, we hope you’ll find the information below a help in planning your visit.
- The bar is on one level and have no step access, but there are a couple of steps down to the dining room.
- There is a disabled public toilet with an alarm on the ground floor.
- Lighting throughout is ‘atmospheric’ – but many tables are close to the window with increased natural daylight
- We have a supply of reading glasses behind the bar, and can provide large print menus
- We’re happy to serve ‘small’ portions of any of our dishes so as not to over face those with smaller appetites
- We’re sorry but non of our rooms are wheelchair accessible as we’re in a very old building
- The car park is to the rear of the building which has steps to the back door – but we do have a drop off point at the front door
